Black Maidens gaffer, Baba Nuhu has warned his side to remain focus ahead of their 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup third round qualifiers against Guinea in Conakry.
The Black Maidens opponent, Guinea are in search of their maiden appearance on the global stage but must pull off an upset against the Black Maidens, who are chasing an African record seventh campaign.
The Guineans progressed to the next stage after easing past Liberia, 9-3 on aggregate. While, Ghana’s U17 side progressed into the third round of the qualifiers with an impressive 4:0 aggregate win over the Young Teranga Lioness of Senegal last month.
Ahead of Saturday’s showdown at General Lansana Conté stadium, Coach Nuhu has urged his side to avoid complacency .
“These days, women’s football is played everywhere and you cannot underrate any team. We will work hard to improve on our missed chances and get things right” He said.
Ghana will take on the Guineans on Saturday April 16 in Conakry with the reverse fixture scheduled at the Cape Coast Stadium on April 30.
