Head Coach for Hasaacas Ladies, Yusif Basigi has disclosed his sides readiness to clinch another laurel in the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The Secondi based Women’s team is Ghana’s representative in the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League.
“Since we knew about this tournament, we started the preparations. We are here to demonstrate why we are champions. We started preparing the players physically and psychologically two months ago to reach another level on both sides. Yusif Basigi said.
“I’ve been a women’s football coach for 18-years now, so it makes me so proud to have Women’s Champions League in Africa, and it’s another feeling to be part of it as well being an advocate talking about women’s rights in Africa to have their own champions league.
“I expect all teams to be tough because they are all champions just like us. So, we need to respect all of our opponents to be more successful.
“Egypt has always been the right direction to organize important event, so organizing this is the right decision”
Hasaacas Ladies is currently the most successful club in Ghana and won an unprecedented double; Women’s Premier League and FA Cup in 2021 before traveling to Ivory Coast to win the first ever West Africa Football Union Zone B Women’s Club Championship.
Hasaacas Ladies will battle it out against Wadi Degla of Egypt, AS Mande of Mali and Malabo Kings FC of Equatorial Guinea in Group A .
The competition will take place from the 5th to the 19th of November, 2021 in Cairo, Egypt.
