In the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship, the National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets, will play Burkina Faso.
Ghana will now play Burkina Faso following the latter’s 1-0 victory over Niger. Ghana had already secured their spot in the final four with their victory over Benin on Tuesday.
The game against Niger was postponed on Wednesday due to heavy rain, and on Thursday, May 23, Burkina Faso scored the game’s lone goal.
They tied Nigeria for second place in Group B after the victory, but they were behind on goal differential.
The semifinal match will be a rematch of the match played at the same venue during the competition’s Cape Coast staging last year.
Coach Laryea Kingston and his lads will be seeking their retribution and hoping to make it to the championship game, which will also mean a spot in the U-17 AFCON in the future.
