With a convincing 2-0 victory over Benin in their final group match at the ongoing WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship, the Ghana National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets, have seal a spot into the semi-finals of the competition.

The Black Starlets, who scored freely, increased their lead against Ivory Coast to 5-1 in the first meeting and now have 7 goals in 2 games.

Benin was eliminated from the tournament after losing all three of their games. Mark Kagawa and Theophilus Ayamga scored two goals in the first half.

Ghana won the group with six points, scoring seven goals and giving up just one.

With the victory, Ghana advances to the WAFU Championship semi-finals where they will play the second-placed team in Group B.

The goal of the Black Starlets is to make a comeback to the Under-17 AFCON, having played in Gabon in 2017.
