Ghana’s U17 side, Black Starlets defeated  Cote d’Ivoire 3-2 to win bronze on Friday night at the WAFU B U17 Championship in Cape Coast.

The Ivorians took an early lead after loss of concentration from Coach Fabin’s side. However, Abdul Rashid Adam scored on the 9th minute to restore parity for Ghana.

The Starlets came into the second half strongly and got rewarded on the 57th when Richard Apokum slotted Ghana’s second goal of the day.

The Ivorians however fought back and equalized on the 72nd in the highly tensed match.

Two minutes into the added time, Abdul Razak Salifu grabbed the winner for Ghana with a delightful goal.

Meanwhile, Nigeria clinched WAFU B U17 Championship after beating Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final match on Friday.

The Baby Stallions lost 2-1 to the most successful U17 Side, Nigeria.
