Denning Edem Hotor, popularly known as Edem, has been given bail after his car knocked down a woman on Sunday, December 10, 2023, his management has said.

The incident happened a few hours after Edem’s appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz programme.

His car allegedly hit a naked pedestrian on the George Walker Bush Highway.

The rapper “narrowly escaped a near fatal accident as described by the Tesano Police Service’s MTTD division,” according to Edem’s management. The musician was involved in an accident on Sunday, December 10, on the George Walker Bush Highway when an unexpected naked woman suddenly crossed his path.

His management went on to say that although Edem was lucky to escape injury, his car overturned following the collision.

The renowned rapper is currently assisting the police with their investigation, and the case is still being looked into.

He has assured all of his fans that he is safe, active, and in good health, and he has pledged to help with investigations if necessary.

The woman he knocked down reportedly passed away in the hospital. The matter is in court.

Edem was subsequently brought before the court on Monday, December 11, 2023, and given a GHc50,000 bail.
