The Black Meteors of Ghana played out a 1-1 draw with Egypt in their international friendly match played at the Alexandria Stadium on Thursday.
Ghana drew first blood through skipper Afriyie Barnieh from the penalty spot after Fatawu Issahaku was brought down in the penalty box.
The host were awarded a penalty of their own in the 20th minute mark but Danlad Ibrahim denied the Egyptians through an impressive save.
However, lack of concentration from the Ghanaians led to Egypt cancelling Ghana’s lead before the halftime break.
With just a minute to half time Zubairu Ibrahim was sent off, leaving Ghana with ten men on the pitch.
Coach Tanko’s lads will continue their preparation towards the U23 AFCON as they are expected to take on an Egyptian Club side in a friendly match before they travel to Morocco.
The tournament is set to commence from June 24-July 8,2023.
