A total of 24 Black Stars players have started training on the first day of camping in Kumasi.

The training is to get the Stars in shape for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.

Following a detailed examination of both the Baba Yara Sports stadium and the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports complex in Abrankese, the technical team, under the direction of Chris Hughton, made the decision to relocate the first day of training to the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex because the Baba Yara Sports stadium’s pitch was not in the best of condition.

Joseph Wollacott, Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Alidu Seidu, Denis Odoi, Kingsley Schindler, Gideon Mensah, Abdul Fatawu Hamid, Nicholas Opoku, and Daniel Amartey were among the 24 players who trained on Tuesday.

Salisu Mohammed, Alexander Djiku, Baba Iddrisu, Osman Bukari, Joseph Painstil, Antoine Semenyo, Jonathan Sowah, Majeed Ashimeru, Andre Ayew, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdorffer, Elisha Owusu, Abdul Samed Salis, Richmond Lamptey, and Majeed Ashimeru are the remaining individuals.

On Monday, January 8, Ghana will play a single international friendly match against Namibia to gauge the lads mental readiness for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote D’Ivoire.
