Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC secured their place in the next round after a 4-3 penalties victory over Nigerian side, Remo Stars SC.
The Mauves and Yellow travelled to Nigeria with a slender 1-0 lead from the first leg – needing a draw to progress into the next phase of the qualifying round.
Remo Stars SC found a goal in the dying minutes for the tie to be decided on penalties which went 4-3 in favour of the Ghanaians.
In the CAF Confederation Cup qualifying 1st round, Ghana’s Dreams FC came from behind to defeat Milo FC of Guinea 2-1 and go through 4-3 on aggregate.
According to CAF, ”the second qualifying round ties will take place over two legs in September as clubs aim for the group stage”.
