Wa West lawmaker, Peter Lanchene Toobu has condemned the youth who stormed the Wa Police station to attempt to forcefully release some suspects in Police custody.

He said under no circumstance should anyone attack a Police facility.

His comments come at a time the Police arrested twenty-five people in Wa for attempting to forcefully secure the release of three suspects who were in Police custody for flogging the victims in the Wa viral video.

The 25 suspects were part of the mob that besieged the Wa Police station on Wednesday June 1, 2022 to demand the release of Sidiki Osman, Bushiran Khigir and Issahku Mahama who were arrested earlier in the day and were in police custody.

The irate mod pelted the charged office and adjoining offices with stones and other implements.

Speaking on the Mid-day news on TV3 with Kola Adom Thursday, Mr Toobu who is a retired Police Officer said “Anytime you find out there is rising mob action or anytime you realize that there is some form of attack on Police facilities, there are two reasons; either we are dealing with a very uninformed public about what the Police are there for, or we are dealing with a Police organization that is incompetent and not meeting the expectations of the people.

“Or probably, we are dealing with both. What is happening in Wa and what has happened in Nkoranza and many ether places where the youth will mass up to attack the Police facility, it is an action that I have condemned at any point in time.

“It doesn’t matter how angry you are, for you to attack a police facility which you have contributed in building it is neither here nor there.”
