Former Black stars defender Anthony Baffoe has stated that the current crop of players in the Black stars team have the potential to book a spot at the World Cup but they must prove their quality on the field of play.
Ghana will take on the Walias in a Group G fixture in at the Cape Coast Stadium, three days ahead of a big away encounter with South Africa.
The former CAF deputy General Secretary, believes good team spirit in camp will encourage the lads to perform remarkably well.
“Having a good scouting team, observing the opponents and wherever you are and creating a good team spirit,”
“This is essential because you can have eleven Messi’s, eleven Cristiano Ronaldo’s or eleven Abedi Pele’s but that doesn’t mean you will have success,” the former Black Stars player said.
“You need to create a good team spirit, it’s not only the players but from the officials.
“We have potential in Ghana but now it’s up to us to show it on the playing field,” he added.
The Black stars have made three previous World Cup appearances, in 2006, 2010 and 2014 in Brazil.
