The Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV, has pledged to ensure the club is debt-free by the end of this year.
Togbe Afede insists that despite the club’s numerous infrastructural obligations and the financial uncertainty brought about by the Covid-19 Pandemic, he is determined to reverse the club’s financial fortunes.
He was speaking at the unveiling of Hearts of Oak’s new jerseys for the 2021/2022 season.
“Our promise is, notwithstanding all of these developments by way of infrastructure to make Accra Hearts of Oak debt free by the end of the year.” He said
“Because the major shareholders of the club who have invested so much money in all these facilities will be happy, to convert all what is owed to them, into shares.
“Hearts of Oak will be a very unique club in this context. Almost every club in the world is in difficulty.”
As part of plans to raise money for the club, Togbe Afede also announced that the club intends to float more shares in the near future.
