Survey: 38.9% voters favor Bawumia as president in the 2024 election

In the general elections of 2024, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is the front-runner with 38.9% of the vote, according to a poll conducted by Professor Smart Sarpong, Director of Research and Innovation at Kumasi Technical University.

John Dramani Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, lags behind with 36.1%.

Bawumia is leading in Ahafo, Ashanti, Bono, Central, Eastern, North East, Western, and Western North, according to the report.

According to the study, the combined gains of all other presidential candidates amount to 3.6%.

According to the survey, as of the end of April 2024, approximately 21.4% of potential voters have not yet chosen which presidential candidate to support.

With 60% of voters supporting the NPP’s flagbearer, the North East is the most divided region. In the Volta area, however, 75.7% of voters have chosen to support Mahama.

The baseline study’s 30-day data collection period ran from April 1st to April 30th, 2024.
