The Ministry of Youth and Sports has summoned the GFA leadership to an emergency meeting following Black stars poor showing that led to an early exit in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2021).
The Comoros beat Ghana 3-2 at the Roumdé Adjia Stadium Tuesday to shutter any hopes of a place in the last 16 for the Black Stars.
A statement signed by Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif on Wednesday said that the Sports Ministry will meet GFA Officials on Friday, January 21.
The scheduled meeting is to ‘discuss and take decisions aimed at salvaging the performance of the Black Stars especially in the next set of games.”
Ghana was eliminated from the 2021 AFCON competition in final day of Group C fixture on Tuesday by an impressive Comoros side.
The result left the four-time champions, at the bottom of the table with one point, while Comoros picked up the third spot with three points and are in a position to qualify to the Round of 16.
Morocco and Gabon finished in first and second positions, respectively, following their 2-2 draw in the other group game on Tuesday.
The Comoros have now three points and will have to wait for the results of the other groups to see if they can advance as one of the best third countries.
