The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors, Mr Senyo Kwasi Hosi has demanded for an establishment of a specialised committee to monitor and track activities of some politicians in oil marketing companies.

He said some politicians have conspired to corrupt the petroleum downstream sector, leading to revenue losses to the state and must, therefore, be monitored in order to curb the situation.

The Chamber of BOG oil Distributors in the latest report details show that more than two billion cedis worth of petroleum products go unaccounted for.

“What it is we have looked at is the possibility of the Attorney General to actually set up a little office in the MPA to help deal with some of these issues as criminal cases rather than administrative issues. Going forward, a committee that monitors this must be put in place. A proper audit supervised by this committee must be commissioned so we go and trace every single volume” he said.
