The GFA’s Match Review Panel has suspended Referee Kenny Padi following a dubious penalty call in the matchday 24 Super Clash between Accra Hearts of Oak and archrivals Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.

The Rainbow club lost by a lone goal courtesy a penalty strike from Mbella Etouga, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after referee Ken Paddy adjudged Hearts defensive midfielder, Abdul Nurudeen to have fouled Kotoko’s Fabio Gama in the box.

The Phobians however filed a protest against referee Ken Padi describing the center referee’s penalty call as ” unprofessional conduct.”

The complaint was lodged with the Ghana Football Association on Monday, April 11, 2022.

The Match Review Panel of the Ghana Football Association after looking into the matter concluded that the referee erred in awarding the penalty to Asante Kotoko in their Ghana Premier League Matchweek 24 game against Hearts of Oak.
