The Ghana right-back Andy Yiadom has been named player of the season for Championship side Reading FC.

“We are very pleased to announce that Andy Yiadom has been voted by our supporters as the Men’s Player of the Season for 2021-22,” wrote the club on their official website.

The Royals right back beat competition from John Swift and Josh Laurent to the Club’s accolade.

The 30-year-old has played 38 league games for the club this season, and is close to racking up 200 in total since joining in 2018.

Despite having the worst defensive record in the league, the supporters have valued his industrious nature and his strong personality- a true leader in the squad.

“I wear my heart on my sleeve when I’m playing, and it’s nice to be recognized by the fans” He said after receiving the award.

Yiadom joined the Royals in 2018 and has made more than 150 appearances in the four seasons since.
