Qnet agents remanded in prison

Some 15 agents of the Qnet company have been remanded into prison custody to reappear on Tuesday, October 19.

The police have charged them for defrauding under false pretences.

Court processes began on Monday, October 18 at the Koforidua Circuti Court A after over a dozen of them were arrested on Friday, October 15.

Their appeal for bail application was not granted by presiding judge Her Honour Marian Affoh Polley.

The agents were rounded up in a swoop by the police on Friday for cyber fraud under false pretences.

They were screened and their leaders picked up for investigations processes on Monday.

Investigations by the police continues to unravel how several people have been influenced to engage in their activities.

There are records of suicide for those who have lost money dealing with them.

On Friday, Head of Consult for the Qnet company in Ghana, known only as Mr Yeboah, argued their business was genuine.

He said they sell products from GH¢4,300 and above to their clients and lure them to get others on board for commission.

Others are promised exchange programmes with university’s outside the country.
