The Police Service has announced the arrest of Lance Corporal Victor Antwi Yeboah for sexually harassing a female in a vehicle.

The suspect was captured in a video harassing and “violating the dignity” of a female victim.

The police in a press statement signed by Director General of Public Affairs, ACP Kwesi Ofori, has described the conduct of the officer as “shameful and despicable.”

The officer involved is stationed at the Regional Operations Unit, Bono Regional Police Command, the statement added.

According to the police administration, they had to review the video and launch an investigation into the incident, immediately they saw the viral video on social media.

Meanwhile, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, Inspector-General of Police, has reached out and spoken to the victim and assured her of thorough police investigations and any other necessary Police support, including psychological care and trauma therapy.

The Police also apologized to the affected woman in particular, for what she experienced and to the public, because the “matter affected the very moral foundation of the country.”
