The controversial anti-LGBTQ bill was approved by the Parliament on Wednesday.
This law was finally enacted after almost three years, and it is currently awaiting President Nana Akufo-Addo of approval.
The speaker, Alban Bagbin, rejected certain last-minute attempts to submit amendments by a member of the ruling party, allowing the law to pass.
The bill criminalises funding, advocacy, and promotion of LGBTQ causes and outlaws LGBTQ activity. Offenders can spend three years or six months in prison.
Sponsors and promoters of the act may potentially be sentenced to three to five years in prison.
The president of Ghana has been urged by human rights organisations to veto the bill into law.
