Pamela Djamson-Tettey appointed as new Ghana Airports Company Boss

The Ghana Airports Company Limited has announced the appointment of Pamela Djamson-Tettey as its new Managing Director.

Madam Djamson-Tettey replaces former MD, Yaw Kwakwa whose contract was terminated by the Board a week ago.

Her appointment follows an emergency meeting by the board of the Ghana Airports Company Limited held on Thursday.

Following an emergency meeting of the GACL Board held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Mr. Yaw Kwakwa submitted his resignation as the Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited effective close of day, February 17, 2022”, the statement said.

“The GACL Board has subsequently appointed Madam Pamela Djamson-Tettey as the new Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company Limited effective February 17, 2022,” it added.

Background:

Mrs. Pamela Djamson-Tettey is an experienced and self-motivated Corporate Executive with over 25 years acquired knowledge in employment.

Djamson-Tettey has an excellent academic and professional qualifications with extensive International exposure spanning well over 18 years of proven track record in Senior Management including 9 years’ experience in the mining industry, 9 years in the manufacturing sector and 2 years in the Power sector.

Her previous employment engagements includes; Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) – Director Communication & Outreach for Compact 2, Africapractice Ghana – Country Director, Pioneer Food Cannery – Public Affairs and Media Consultant, Gold Fields Ghana – Head Corporate Affairs, Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited ( GGBL) – Executive Director and Director Corporate Relations, Ashanti Goldfields Company Ltd – Senior Investor Relations & Public Affairs Officer among others.

She is an accredited member of The Institute of Public Relations, Ghana, and a Director at the Alvitrak Medical Supplies Ltd.

The current Ghana Airports Company Limited Boss is  a product of the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK with an MA in International Relations/Postgraduate Diploma in Politics and Diplomacy and the United States International University Bushey, Herts UK and San Diego, California, USA – Cum Laude 1982-1985.

Pamela’s areas of expertise include Stakeholder Engagement, Strategic Communications, Branding, Media and Public Relations, Investor Relations, Government, Diplomatic Relations and Sustainable Development Management.

Prior to joining MiDA, Pamela was the Head of Corporate Affairs at Gold Fields Ghana, where she led the Public Policy, Sustainable Development, Government Relations, Communications, Media and Sponsorship Objectives of the company.

She had earlier worked at Ashanti Gold Fields Company Limited where she held the position of Senior Public Affairs and Investor Relations Officer.

From 2001 – 2009, Pamela was the Executive Director and Director Corporate Relations at Diageo Ghana- Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL).
