Former Gender Minister, Nana Oye Lithur has failed in her attempt to go to Parliament on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She lost the Adentan constituency primary to Mohammed Ramadan in what was a close contest.
Former Minister of Gender, and human rights advocate with the Commonwealth Oye Lithur was eager to begin a Parliamentary career by contesting the upcoming 2020 Parliamentary election.
After Saturday’s primary Gerald Robert, the Electoral Commission official announced the results as:
Mohammed Adamu Ramadan – 730
Nana Oye Lithur – 559
Rejected ballots – 1
A total of 1378 voters were expected but 1290 cast the ballot.
Actual votes cast were 1289
