As the Black Stars are set to play the Central African Republic (CAR) on Monday, Otto Addo has alluded to potential fitness concerns.

The two teams will compete at Baba Yara Stadium in their fourth 2026 World Cup qualification with the goal of winning consecutive games.

After a thrilling tight victory against Chad last week, CAR is hoping to move up the standings with a win versus the Black Stars. The hosts, who defeated Mali on Thursday, are similarly confident after their victory.

However, coach Otto Addo disclosed that Ghana could need to modify their plans in light of some players’ fitness.

“We had some few injuries but it seems like everybody will train fully today and I’m sure everyone will be ready for tomorrow,” he stated ahead of the game.

In order to increase the chances of the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions, the former talent coach for Dortmund is also depending on home crowd support to deliver a crucial victory.

“I was really overwhelmed the last time we came here, to be honest we I didn’t expect that especially looking at our performance in Afcon and yet they cheered us up in numbers, it’s the reason why I love Kumasi fans. I love coming here, we need their support from the star to the end of the game”

Even with home field advantage, Addo stresses the need to play with additional caution.

“One thing is for sure, it’s going to be very difficult game. For everyone who think it’s going to be easy, we hope it goes like that, but it’s really a difficult game. We can’t relax now.”

Ghana is currently tied for sixth place in Group I with Madagascar and Comoros; a victory would move them to the top of the group.
