Some members of the New Patriotic Party in the Odododiodioo constituency of the Greater Accra are protesting against the leadership of the party accusing them of distributing fake forms for the polling station executive elections.
According to the NPP members, the forms sold out to aspirants have different stamps on them.
During a visit to the area by Citi News, the aggrieved members were clad in red armbands demanding an explanation from the leadership.
“On Saturday, we saw the forms. Some people were having the forms that were not out. We raised the alarm and the Chairman went to a zone to collect the forms which he had given to them,” one of the protesters said.
“We were like, how can the party have two forms with different stamps, so we came here this morning,” he added.
The Chairman of the Election Committee in the Odododiodioo constituency of the Greater Accra Region, Francis Ebo Mensah, has however denied claims of distributing fake forms.
“I can say authoritatively that nobody can fake this thing,” he said to Citi News.
Mr. Mensah stressed that he was working to ensure there was no shortage of forms.
“I am here to sell forms and as many, as are ready to purchase the forms, I will make sure all the 3,000 forms will go out.”
“I don’t want a situation where people will say we went to Odododiodioo and the forms are in short supply. How will I feel?” he asked.
