According to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), more than GH₵300 million has been paid to healthcare facilities across the country as claims reimbursement.

According to the statement, this sum will pay “the claims vetted for higher tier facilities up to January 2024.”

“For lower tier facilities, the payments are within the acceptable three-month debt period.”

The Authority stated in a June 11 news release that NHIA’s dedication to preserving the seamless operation of healthcare services and guaranteeing the long-term viability of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) is demonstrated by this announcement.

The payment is intended to assist the operational requirements of healthcare providers and improve the standard of treatment given to all NHIS members, according to Acting Chief Executive Dr. Aboagye Da-Costa.

The NHIA assured healthcare providers of ongoing efforts to enhance the effectiveness and promptness of claim processing and payments while also acknowledging their cooperation and patience.
