Former president and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has outlined plans to fight youth unemployment when the NDC is given the chance to govern again.
In his message to celebrate International Youth Day, the former president bemoaned the rising unemployment figures and cost of living which he opined, has left many young people feeling hopeless with no opportunities in sight.
The former president in a Facebook post indicated that a new “NDC administration will work urgently to equip our youth with the entrepreneurial knowledge and skills needed for a sustainable future.”
He disclosed that a 24-hour economy with incentives and tax breaks for manufacturers will be introduced to increase recruitment numbers which will eventually financially empower young people.
