Shatta, Beyonce

Award winning Ghanaian artiste Charles Nii Armah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has said his collaboration with American singer Beyonce hasn’t been appreciated enough.

Shatta Wale got featured on Beyonce’s Lion King Album which was released last year.

According to the Dancehall act, the collaboration was meant to pave way for Afrobeat to go International but hasn’t gotten the push from Ghanaians.

“I have done a song with Beyonce and the whole of Ghana is not pushing that agenda, and is a problem.

“This a superstar that took one of us, Beyonce didn’t say I was special, I was the best artiste, I was the toughest artist or anything, it happened by God’s Grace, and I think Ghanaians have not appreciated it enough, I still feel there is more work to do,” he said in an interview on Showbiz 360.

He added” We have not celebrated the glory enough because we are here complaining about Afrobeat – Nigerians are not moving into the international market and God has given us Moses to just use one stick, instead of everybody to follow me, they are blind about it, everybody wants to do some. What Beyonce did won’t happen again unless another generation, there is no artiste above Beyonce level that anyone can feature”. Seven months after releasing the video, ‘Already’ has hit 44million views on Youtube.
