Minister of Youth and Sports Mustapha Ussif has indicated that a committee will be setup to determine how much remuneration players will receive ahead of Afcon 2022.
In the past bonuses for players have always been a matter of controversy with the Brazil 2014 World Cup being a prime example.
The Minster believes it is important to avoid such a situation in future and thus the move to determine these payments well ahead of the competition.
“Ghanaians are not worried about what we give the Black Stars but they are worried about how accountable we are.
“They will want to make sure that whatever we give the Black Stars we get something back for it and I share the views of Ghanaians.
“Going to the Afcon and other competitions, a technical team should be put together to look at bonuses and compensation for the national team comprehensively.
“We should not wait till we are heading to the Afcon to start these discussions because that is the time when the team is supposed to focus on training and strategy for winning the competition.
“We are going to move away from that regime.
“So a technical team will be put in place and they are going to make recommendations.
“This technical team will engage the players, the supporters and key stakeholders
