Black Stars, defender Mohammed Salisu made his anticipated debut for Southampton as they defeated Wolves by 2-0 in the FA Cup on Thursday.
The 21-year old played his first game for the club on Thursday at the Molineux since his 12 million euros move from Spanish side, Real Valladolid last summer.
Second-half goals from Danny Ings and Stuart Armstrong decided the fixture at Molineux.
In a post match interview, the Ghanaian said “It’s a perfect night, I’m really happy to be back with the team,”
“The team really did well and worked hard, I’m very happy. I’m very excited for a clean sheet, it’s very important. It was a great boost really, we are going to give our all on Sunday”.
“I think we need to focus on the next round, fight hard together and I think we’ll go further. When we are on the pitch, we are all the same and we have to give our all”.
Southampton will travel to Championship side Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-final tie.
