The Bank of Ghana Governor, Dr. Ernest Addison, has been formally asked to set a time for the Minority Caucus in Parliament to present their petition calling for his removal.
The minority group marched to the Central Bank’s location in October 2023 to demand that Dr. Addison be removed from his position.
Nevertheless, the minority caucus did not meet with the BoG governor, which prevented them from presenting the petition. The Minority group denied the petition to the head of security for the BoG who was supposed to receive it.
“We, therefore, write to request your availability at the premises of the Bank of Ghana head office for the Honorable Members of the Minority Caucus in Parliament to hand over our petition to you personally,” read a statement signed by Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson and released on Monday, December 11.
“Kindly inform us by Monday, 18th December 2023, a date and time convenient to you for us to present our petition to you at the Bank of Ghana head office.”
