Samuel-Boadu

Ghana Premier League side, Medeama SC’s appeal against the GFA Player Status Committee’s ruling on their case against Samuel Boadu has been dismissed.

This decision was taken after the Tarkwa outfit filed an appeal against the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee’s decision ordering their former coach Samuel Boadu to pay them a compensation of GHC212,500.00 and damages of GHC100.00o.00

The Mauves and Yellow club argued that former coach Boadu unilaterally terminated his contract mid way through the season causing them stress among others.

Consequently the Player Status Committee found the Hearts coach guilty for breaching his contract without due course, thus ordered him to pay GH₵ 30,000 to his former employers.

Medeama were seeking for “substantial damages” in the region of GH₵ 320,000 for the arbitrary decision by the coach including compensation but the Status Committee initially rejected the residual value of the unexpired contract petition by the club in their ruling hence the appeal.

However, the Appeals Committee Friday, July 9, 2021, has quashed Medeama SC’s appeal.

Below is the full detail of the ruling:
