In relation to a robbery incident that happened on the Odumase-Badu road, close to Sunyani, in the Bono region on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at around 7 p.m., the Ghana Police Service has detained one suspect.

While returning from a field trip, the suspect and his accomplices—who are currently at large—attacked and stole from University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) students and lecturers.

Tragically, Abdul Aziz Issah, a student, was killed in the attack. Following treatment, six more students who had minor injuries were let go.

Highway patrol units of the police intervened and made one arrest. In order to apprehend the other accomplices and bring them to justice, a manhunt is presently underway.
