After a spirited 2-1 victory over Ampem Darkoa Ladies on Saturday, June 8, 2024, Hasaacas Ladies have recaptured the Malta Guinness Premier League title.
At the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon, the Sekondi-based team defeated its rivals to win the title thanks to two early goals in the first half.
The game started off excitingly as Hasmal’s Veronica Baah scored the first goal in the 11th minute with a bomb, and three minutes later, former Ghana Under-20 player Abdulai Mukarama added the second.
Even though Ophelia Serwaa gave the reigning champions a point back in the 73rd minute, Ampem Darkoa Ladies fell short of their fierce rivals to lose the title.
Given that the Hasaacas Ladies lost the finals to the same team twice in a row, this is a huge accomplishment for them.
With this victory, Hasaacas has now won six Premier League titles in an incredible ten years.
For the enthusiastic spectators at the Stadium, it was a thrilling conclusion to an amazing game that created many unforgettable moments.
As of right now, Hasaacas Ladies have earned a spot in the WAFU Women’s Championship, which will happen in Cote D’voire later this year.
