President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has been confirmed as the new President of WAFU Zone B.
Kurt’s official appointment was made on Saturday, May 22 2021 during the 14th WAFU Zone B General Assembly at the Swiss Spirits Alisa Hotel in Accra.
The GFA boss takes over from Niger Football Federation president Djibrilla Hima Hamidou who stepped down from the position.
Hamidou has been at the helm since 2014 and has finally relinquished it to concentrate on his duties on CAF’s Executive Council.
Mr. Okraku has been in charge of Ghana’s football Presidency since October 2019.
West African football union is the football governing body in west Africa whose mission is to promote brotherhood through football tournaments and education.
WAFU Zone B member teams consists: Ivory Coast, Mali, Niger, Togo, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Benin.
