President of the Ghana Football Association Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has arrived in Nigeria for the Aisha Buhari Invitational Women’s Football Tournament.
Also in Nigeria is the President of the Confederation of African Football Patrice Motsepe. Ghana’s FA boss who doubles as WAFU B President will be one of the special guests for the competition which kicks off on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium in Lagos.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino will also attend the Aisha Buhari Cup Competition.
The maiden edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament which is now a FIFA-grading event kick starts, Wednesday.
Host Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Mali, Ghana and Morocco are the six teams to battle for honours at the tournament being staged in honour of the country’s First Lady, Dr (Mrs) Aisha Muhammadu Buhari.
The tournament is meant to be an annual event to give the top Women’s national teams of Africa the chance of playing against each other in the off season to keep them active.
