Oda-based Kotoku Royals have sealed a place in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League after a stalemate draw with Tema Youth on Sunday at the Tema Park.

Their qualification is the first time in the Akyem Club’s history after several unsuccessful attempt.

Kotoku Royals status in Ghana’s top flight was confirmed following another GPL hopeful, Liberty Professionals’ goalless draw in their game against Susubribi on Sunday.

They are first indigenous team from the Eastern Region in the league since Power FC were relegated in 2007.

The Akyem based outfits finished summit of the Division 1 Zone Three table with 63 points whiles Liberty Professionals accumulated 62 points.
