Kumasi Asante Kotoko outclassed Tarkwa based Medeama SC to a lone goal at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday.

Cameroonian import George Mfegue Omgba’s 79th minute ensured the Porcupine Warriors secured all the three points to extend their unbeaten run to six games. Mfegue who was on hand for a brace missed from the spot after Richmond Lamptey was fouled in the box.

Vincent Atinga and Kwasi Donsu came very close to hitting the back of the net for the visitors but Kotoko goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim pulled two brilliant saves to deny them.

Asante Kotoko finally broke the deadlock 11 minutes from time through George Mfegue who beat Medeama SC goalkeeper Boris Mandjui. Mfegue drove into the box and then unleashed a powerful low strike into the far right corner to send the crowed into a wild jubilation.

Boris later saved Mfegue’s penalty to cap off an outstanding individual display that merited the Man of the Match award.

Kotoko have 30 points after their win – six points ahead of second placed Aduana FC who play Dreams FC on Monday.

The Mauves and Yellow, drop to the fifth spot with 23 points after 14 Premier League matches.
