Korle Bu’s CEO tests positive for COVID-19

The Chief Executive Officer of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Dr. Daniel Asare has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Graphic Online sources at Korle Bu say Dr Asare has gone through the necessary protocols and is responding to treatment.

Media reports have suggested he has been out of office for about a fortnight due to the disease but a key source close to him assured “he is doing very well.”

Three other staff of his office have also gone into isolation.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, and the Chief Executive Officer of the National Health Insurance Authority, Lydia Dsane-Selby who tested positive for COVID-19, are also said to be doing well.

The Minister for Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Okere in the Eastern Region, Dan Kwaku Botwe, have also been admitted at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) awaiting results of COVID-19 tests.

Ghana’s COVID-19 case count is now 14,568 with 10,907 recoveries and 95 deaths.
