King Faisal defeated Dreams FC 3-2 on Match Day 9 of the Ghana Premier League on Tuesday to move joint top of the table with Aduana FC.
The Isha Alla boys, maintained their unbeaten home record having picked four wins, one draw after five home matches.
Danger man Zubairu Ibrahim opened the scoring in the 5th minute after pouncing on a defensive error before slotting home. The visitors had a slow start to the game and got punished when Zubairu capitalized on one of such errors to score the opener.
Dreams FC quickly regrouped and took charge of the game with the likes of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Maxwell Arthur and Issah Ibrahim pushing for the equalizer. Kwame Karikari was fouled in the box by King Faisal goalkeeper Adams Abdul Jabal and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty in favor of Dreams FC.
Agyenim Boateng expertly converted the kick in the 31st minute to level things up for Dreams FC – But the equalizer lasted for only three minutes as Enock Morrison restored King Faisal’s lead in the 34th minute.
Back from recess, King Faisal piled pressure for the third goal and got rewarded on the hour mark through an own goal from defender Habib Mohammed.
Summer signing Kwaku Karikari reduced the deficit for Dreams FC inside 66 minutes but it wasn’t enough to give the visitors a point as King Faisal held on to win 3-2 at the Baba Yara stadium.
King Faisal have now acquired 20 points; sharing joint spot with Aduana Stars and three points above the Porcupine Warriors.
