Madam Julie Essiam has been named by President Akufo-Addo as the new Commissioner-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
She takes over from Rev. Dr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah.
Prior to her appointment, Madam Julie Essiam served as the Commissioner in charge of the GRA’s Support Services Division.
Her appointment was made just hours after the GRA Board was dissolved by President Akufo-Addo.
The president’s action follows days after Bice President and Presidential candidate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia claimed that GRA was taxing businesses unfairly because of unachievable goals.
Dr. Anthony Oteng-Gyasi presided over the disbanded GRA Board, which was also composed of Mr. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, Madam Adelaide Ahwireng, Prof. Peter Ohene Kyei, Mr. Kwabena Boaten, Mrs. Dela Obeng-Sakyi, Dr. Maxwell Opoku-Afari, and Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei.
