Jonathan Sowah, a former striker for Medeama Sporting Club, has terminated his contract with the club, ending his time at Al-Nasr Benghazi in Libya.
After just six months of Sowah’s arrival, the two parties amicably decided to call it quits on their engagement. As of right now, he is a free agent.
After the 25-year-old formally joined the North African club on January 27, 2024, his contract was scheduled to expire on December 31, 2025. It is said that he paid the club 200,000 euros to join.
Sowah made seven appearances in the CAF Champions League during the 2023–2024 season, scoring three goals; Egypt’s Al-Ahly emerged victorious.
In eight Ghana Premier League games for Medeama Sporting Club in the recently concluded season, Sowah scored four goals.
He played a key role in Medeama’s Ghana League championship-winning team in 2022–2023, contributing 12 goals and an assist in 20 league games.
Under former head coach Chris Hughton, he was selected for the Black Stars for the 2023 AFCON; Ghana was eliminated at the group stage.
