Hiphop and Afrobeats artiste, DBlack has stated emphatically he has nothing personal against the former president of the Musicians Union of Ghana(MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour when he critisised the latter’s political ambitions recently.
Rather, what the Black Avenue Muzik founder has a problem with, is Obour’s lack of accountability for his stewardship to the union and how finances were managed during his tenure as president of MUSIGA for eight years.
Obour who led MUSIGA for eight years is aspiring to contest the Asante Akyem South parliamentary seat on the ticket of the ruling party, the New Patriotic Party(NPP)
Explaining himself to the Graphic Showbiz, DBlack who is also an entrepreneur said, “I don’t have any issue with him. In fact, I have zero issues with Obour as a person. Obour is ambitious and I wish him all the best in his political journey.
“He is a big brother and a senior colleague who I have high regards for. I however have an issue with the imbalance and improper structures of our music industry which he led for eight years.
“I just wish he would address the various issues that have been raised concerning his operations as president of the Union. How he steered the affairs of the music body under his leadership.
“I think he needs to clear them out of the way before jumping into party politics”, he added.
According to Dblack, the Konkontiba hitmaker needs to clear the air for everyone to have a clear understanding of his operations while in office. He needs to answer the burning questions people have been asking him about his time in office.
“He should be accountable especially to the players in the music industry such as the artistes, producers, songwriters, etc who have nagging questions which are begging for answers concerning how finances were managed and how it benefited musicians of Ghana when he was in office. That’s just my opinion though”, he added.
