Dancehall act Stonebwoy has refuted suggestions that he was the mastermind of a scuffle involving his former signee Kelvynboy yesterday at the Electroland Ashaiman branch.
Stonebwoy says he has directed his lawyers to take legal action against the allegation which are causing considerable harm to his brand and legitimate business interests.
In a statement, Stonebwoy’s record label said: “none of the individuals who are alleged to have been involved in the alleged actions have been and/or are in the employ of Stonebwoy”.
“Our attention and energies are focused on shaping Ghana’s sonic landscape through Anloga Junction, Stonebwoy’s recently released studio album which is receiving critical acclaim and global recognition,” the statement said.
“To suggest that we will divert our attention from our efforts to promote Ghanaian music to devote time and/or energy to an artiste who was voluntarily released from our organisation can only be the product of an exaggerated sense of self-importance”.
A video of the incident shows Stonebwoy being hurriedly whisked away after some men enter the shop. The singer later took to his Twitter handle with subliminals about his attackers:
