Laryea Kingston, the former coach of Ghana’s Black Starlets, has admitted full responsibility for the team’s failure to make it to the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.

Laryea went on to say that he truly regretted disappointing everyone.

Kingston submitted his resignation at the news conference held after the team’s loss to Burkina Faso.

Shortly after Ghana’s 2-1 semifinal loss to Burkina Faso, former Black Stars star Kingston abruptly announced his departure as head coach. Since 2017, Ghana has not participated in the Under-17 AFCON.

Meanwhile, Nigeria defeated Ghana 3-2 to win the bronze medal in the competition.
