Hearts

Scores of football fans stormed the secretariat of the Phobians to to buy tickets ahead of Sunday’s big clash with arch-rivals Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts and Kotoko, Ghana’s two biggest clubs, are set for a showdown on matchday 31 of the Ghana Premier League.

Following GFA’s decision to avoid overcrowding and mass gathering at the stadium entrance hours leading to the Matchday, the Association announced that ”there shall be no selling of tickets at the stadium gates on Sunday and only persons with ticket shall be granted access to go near the stadium by the security personnel to be stationed at the roads leading to the stadium” as well as government’s directive for only 25% attendance at the stadium owing to COVID-19 restrictions, fans of the rainbow club stormed the secretariat as early as 7am and formed long queues to purchase tickets.

However, only few could get some of the 10,000 tickets allocated for the match.

Hearts went level on points with Kotoko at the top of the league table but with a superior goal difference.

The two sides will have everything to play for on Sunday as the winner could take a three-point lead atop the table with three rounds of matches to end the season.
