The National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has granted GH¢ 587,236 to six medical facilities so that renal patients under the age of 18 and older than 60 can receive free dialysis sessions.

This comes after the government declared that it will pay for these patients’ dialysis treatments.

Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, Efia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, Ho Teaching Hospital, Tamale Teaching Hospital, and Korle Bu Teaching Hospital are among the beneficiary medical facilities.

The National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) will be maintained and healthcare services will run smoothly thanks to the cash, according to NHIA.

In a statement released on Sunday, June 30, NHIA verified the payment and stated that the hospitals will oversee the money and pay patients who made their own payments in June.

With the distribution, the government’s support for renal patients has entered its first month of implementation. NHIA guarantees that everyone will continue to have access to high-quality treatment.
