A depleted Accra Hearts of Oak squad managed a slim 1-0 victory over Gold Stars in a Ghana Premier League Match Day 29 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
An 11th minute penalty strike from Samuel Inkoom settled the win for the Phobians after Benjamin Yorke was fouled in the box.
The defeat adds to Bibiani Gold Stars’ unimpressive run on the road having gone 15 matches without a win.
The Rainbow Club are enjoying a resurgence in form since their 1-0 loss suffered in the hands of archrivals Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium in April 10th.
The win helps Hearts climb to 3rd on the league standings with 47 points – 9 points adrift of leaders, Asante Kotoko.
