At the Tarkwa Akoon Community Park, matchday-28 action between Defending Champions Medeama and Asante Kotoko resulted in a thrilling draw on Saturday.
The two teams in Tarkwa were separated by a goal in each half, maintaining Dr. Prosper Nartey Ogum’s outstanding record against Medeama.
Twenty-two minutes in, Steve Desse Mukwala gave the score a resounding header, but Diawise Taylor leveled things with a penalty kick.
In just 22 minutes, Asante Kotoko had taken the lead in a decisive fashion. Steve Desse Mukwala, an international for Uganda, headed home the first goal with a strong sense of gravity.
Nevertheless, after Diawise Taylor scored from the penalty kick, the home team maintained their poise and energy to equalize. When Bernandinho Tetteh was brought down, the referee had an easy time pointing to the spot.
With poise, Taylor took the opportunity and scored his first goal for the reigning champions.
The Mauve and Yellow would have liked to capitalize on home field advantage, but they were unable to do so.
The Porcupine Warriors have now picked up four points from two matches in what has been a turbulent campaign.
