Kotoko

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have climbed to the summit of the Ghana Premier League table after recording a 2-0 win over Berekum Chelsea at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Sunday in Match week Week 19.

With a new head coach, Mariano Barreto, the Porcupine Warriors have recorded two straight wins since taking over.

Goals from Andy Kumi and Godfred Asiamah ensured that the Porcupine Warriors grabbed all three points from the game.

New signing Andy Francis Kumi struck his second goal in two games in the 26th minute before Asiamah found the back of the net late in the 90th minute to seal the victory for Kotoko after Berekum Chelsea wasted an opportunity from the penalty spot that would have brought them level in the second half.

With Great Olympics and Karela United all dropping points, Kotoko have thus moved to the top of the league table.
