Accra Hearts of Oak have defeated Accra Lions 2-1 in the betPawa Ghana Premier League.

The two teams were evenly matched in the opening minutes of the game, but Salifu Ibrahim made an immediate impression, and Hamza responded just as well, putting the first goal in the net with a brilliant head-shot from one of Salifu’s signature freekicks.

Shortly after, a wild deflection went past goalkeeper Richmond Ayi, costing the Rainbow Club the lead.

It appeared that the game would end in a draw, but thanks to Raphael Amponsah’s outstanding play, Hearts of Oak prevailed at the end with the second goal of the day.

After 11 games, Hearts are currently ranked ninth in the league standings with fifteen points.
